FEATURES Frontline of efforts for improving ocean environments

Efforts for improving ocean environments such as closed waters are made not only by reducing contamination load from land side like upgrading sewerages, high level processing to remove some chemicals, and improving river environments, but also by measures at ocean side like dredging sludge, constructing tidelands and duckweed lands, restoring marks resulted from digging earth and sand from sea beds, and collecting garbage, refuse, and oil. And these efforts are done not only by central and local administrative offices concerned but by the combination of citizens, NPO, and private sectors.
We invited experts' suggestions/views as to the right directions for the betterment of ocean environments and introduce some characteristic activities!
