FEATURES 〜 Various efforts to cope well with international standardization 〜
 Public investment budget has reduced in recent years and harbor businesses of our country have to go out to the world market than before. Tie up between public and private sectors is required to strengthen international competitiveness (please refer to our January strengthen). It is required that Japan's high technology of design and implementation of civil engineering works in the ocean and harbor field are consistent the global standard so that Japan's advantages in the world market be secured.
 The feature of this month reports actual voices from those involved in establishing international standards not only in the field of ocean and harbor but in the field of electricity and electronics in order to clarify what to do in our strategy for international standardization.
